Andrea and Zach

The beginning of forever, featuring The Landings! Zach and Andrea took the bright line to Miami on a rainy day and went to Bayside to eat and enjoy a walk. After leaving, they headed back to City Place in West Palm Beach where they went to downtown Clematis. This is where Zach proposed to Andrea. They went to celebrate at The Cheesecake Factory where Zach had Andrea’s family there to surprise her!

Zach and Andrea wed at The Wanderers Club in Wellington, Florida where they fell in love with the idea of brunch stations and the convenient location to where they call home. The colors of the day were a beautiful navy with blush pink. Andrea was dressed in a beautiful gown, Mori Lee by Madline Gardner from the Bridal Boutique of the Palm Beaches. Video was by Labif Filmhouse. Hair and makeup was provided by Hair And Makeup I Do, and the party was kept going by Palm Beach Party DJ’s.

Should you do a first look? Some fun facts about doing a first look.

Back in the old days, aka the Middle Ages, marriage was quite different than today. Women didn’t have a choice as to who they would marry and, most of the time, women didn’t even know the man before they wed. Marriage back then was not based on love, most marriages were political arrangements.

This emerged from a time when arranged marriages were commonplace, and was practiced to ensure the groom would go through with the marriage regardless of the bride to be’s identity or appearance.

So romantic, right?

Fast forward to 2018, most brides still prefer to keep their bridal look a secret from the groom until the ceremony.

But a growing number of brides and grooms feel, although there is a definite sense of excitement and anticipation leading up to when a couple first lay eyes on each other when the bride is coming up the aisle, that they would enjoy, and even benefit from, some private relaxing moments together before the whirlwind of their wedding day takes over.

What is a first look?

A first look is a special moment when the groom is able to see the bride for the first time before the ceremony, which is documented by their professional wedding videographer and photographer.

A chance to be together, to see each other all dressed up, to cry, to laugh and to anticipate the impending celebrations of the day. Enjoy a few minutes to yourselves in a day where everyone is vying for your attention.

This isn’t a replacement to the walking down the aisle experience but it is actually in addition to that moment. So in essence you are adding to the day by getting a second special look instead of replacing it.

Why have they become so popular?

There are heaps of excellent reasons to consider a first look. The benefits include:

  • Adds another memorable moment to your day,

  • Removes the stressful part of not seeing each other before the ceremony,

  • Spend more time with your family and guests by getting all of the important photos done before the ceremony,

  • People describe their wedding day as one of the happiest days of their lives it makes sense to spend more time with your life partner on the happiest day of your life doesn’t it?,

  • Allows couples to better absorb the enormity of the day while also helping bring a level of calmness,

  • Your videographer and photographer are able to capture so much more beautiful video and photo with the extra time available,

  • After the wedding all you have to think about is actually attending your reception and mingling with friends and family who are eager to congratulate you

Your videographer also will love:

  • More opportunities for great video, after all, this is what will be left to look back on

  • Getting creative with time; much like an engagement shoot, but in your best clothes

  • Shooting a more relaxed and comfortable couple = better, more authentic photos with no rushing

What are the cons?

It's wise to consider, should you choose to opt for a first look, that there are some additional planning elements to work out, like:

  1. How much earlier will you need to get ready for your first look?

  2. First looks can build up the pressure

  3. Time. The rushing may take away from the opportunity and could cause stress rather than relieve it

  4. What makeup style did you choose? You might need to fix your makeup after shedding a few happy tears

  5. If you think that a lot of bad juju will come your way after seeing your bride or groom, a first look may not be for you

  6. Your flowers could take a beating. They’ll look great for the first look, but might be tired before you walk down the aisle

How do I coordinate a first look?

First up, location. Consider your likes, a special place, your first date or another shared memory. Always discuss with your photographer in advance, for best lighting and backdrop reasons.

Make sure your videographer and photographer are aligned in terms of the timing and location of the shoot- and that they have ample amount of time to get set up to capture the moment!

don’t go overboard with the posing, and remember to smile! having fun and getting creative will help your photographer and videographer to capture authentic, warm smiles from you both.

Melody and David

Sunset with the Marks, on the beautiful Gulf Coast of St. Pete Beach, Florida joined with family and friends from near and far. With faces to the beautiful sunset, and toes in the sand, Melody made a beautiful entrance in a Pronovias Barcelona gown and was stunning! February 14th, 2018, on Love day, Melody and David came home from work and decided to stay in with their pups, Bonggu and Talia to celebrate. David made a delicious dinner and their favorite strawberry cake from Delight Bakery. David gave Melody her gift-the first was a small box. Inside of the small box was a stuffed animal elephant and strawberry ring pop. Melody always told David a ring pop was all she needed! Then Melody opened the next gift-which was a book of 100 reason why David loves Melody. After page 20, Melody knew he was proposing! Through happy tears, Melody made it to the last page which had the illustration of him down on one knee asking “Will You Marry Me?” At the same time, David got down on one kee and proposed! David and Melody’s wedding day was as sweet as the proposal. We couldn’t have done it all without a great team of vendors! Melody and her bridesmaids’ hair and make-up was done by Femme Akoi, all of the beautiful moments were captured in photo by Kristin Sloan Photography, and video by Labif Filmhouse. Dinner was buffet style delicious seafood provided by Sirata Beach Resort. The dance floor stayed rocking and rolling all night long, thanks to Sugar and Spice!

Bernie and Jared

Bernie not only stunned us, but her friends and family with her beautiful dress designed by Morilee. Hair and Make up was done by Jocelyn Martinez . The flowers (Sarandipity) were lovely and truly went very well with the theme colors of Dusty blue (Steel Blue), white, greenery, gold/ silver accents. Willoughby Golf and Country club was just the right venue for this couple elegant and classy and it was decorated by Kirsten Gutowski. All caught on camera by Labif Filmhouse and Danielle Love Photography.

Hear how Jared proposed to Bernie. Words from Bernie;

Jared and I have been together for what seems like forever. The weekend before my 22nd birthday we went out to dinner to celebrate. Jared initially asked me movie times since he had made reservations at Bimini Twist for 6pm because they are usually very busy. When we got to the restaurant the waitress let us know she had a table outside available I immediately said no because it was getting cold out LOL but then agreed to sit outside, thinking Jared was just starving and wanted to be in and out like usual. We ordered drinks and appetizers I was thinking the waiter was taking forever to come take our order. Jared got up to use the restroom and when he comes back he put his phone on the table and began playing "Grow Old" by Florida Georgia Line, I immediately knew he was up to something next thing I know I see a photographer and the manager. Jared hands me a piece of paper as an early birthday girl and waits until I read "Engagement Photoshoot" thats when he got up walked to me and got on one knee. I couldn't even tell you what he said entirely because I started crying after "We've been together 7 years now..."

Oh by the way they have a chocolate Labrador named Milo

Gillian and Alex Highlight

You had us at muted pinks and purples with greenery. This was a day of love and style. The dress was by Hayley Paige and groom was tailored in Kenneth Cole. It was a beautiful dreamy day with the wedding taking place in the front gates of Allen Kryger Park Which reminded them of their travels throughout Europe. Ashlee Ann did a wonderful job on dolling Gillian and her bridesmaids up. Even more beautiful is the story on how they got engaged.

The bride tells the story; Going off the Europe note above, Alex met me in Scotland (I had been traveling through Eastern Europe by myself). After Scotland, we were meeting up with some of my British family and also my mom and sister were joining us as well. We booked a bus tour of the Scottish highlands in order to see the beautiful countryside. One of the stops was Inverarary Castle, which is still occupied by the Duke of Argyll and his family. After touring the inside of the castle, we went out back to walk through the incredible gardens. That's when he proposed! We told my mom and sister when we met them at the airport a few days later.

The love was captured by Labif Filmhouse and Brittany Pannebaker.

Jabari and Latoya Highlight

We Just wanted to say that this couple was beautiful from the inside out. It was a pleasure to capture these two love birds at this head turning barn and farm wedding venue The Venue at Diamond C Ranch in Myakka City, Florida. Located on the West Coast of Florida, we enjoyed scenic views, and also a very private setting while Jabari and Latoya exchanged their vows. We had the pleasure of being Jabari and Latoya’s Wedding Videographers, Carmella Blackwell Photography captured the beautiful moments in photos. Latoya’s Glam squad for her day Krystal Klear Faces and Hair by Ashley Veree. Thank you for sharing this special day with Labif Filmhouse

Amber and Chris Highlight

Congratulations, Amber and Chris Piccioni! The love story about a Florida girl and a Jersey boy, although Amber and Chris live in New Jersey now (with their two miniature pinchers Otis and Cosmo) Chris decided to propose to Amber on a warm Thanksgiving Day in Florida in front of all of Ambers family. We think he may have been a little nervous…but great news Amber said YES! Chris and Amber decided to get married in Elmers, NJ at The Running Deer Golf Club with rustic beams, and a wall with full length windows overlooking the beautiful golf course. It was a perfect sunny day, despite there being a chance of rain it never came! They chose gorgeous accents of Pink and Navy Blue for their colors. with the help of Kait Gallo at The Running Deer Golf Club. Amber wore a beautiful gown by designer Sophia Tolli at Simplicity Boutique which made our and her photographer, Courtney Simpsons job a whole lot easier. She looked stunningly beautiful. When you see Chris and Amber smile at each other, it equates true love and happiness and it shows. Thank you for welcoming us to “The Jersey” so warmly, we hope you and your family and friends enjoy your film.

Lauren and Ryan Highlight

What a marvelous day to go to the beach and celebrate love. These two chose to tie the knot on the beautiful sands of Jekyll Island, island of turtles. Ryan always loved Jekyll Island, and after bringing Lauren to explore she soon fell in love with it, too. They both wanted a beach wedding, so it worked out perfectly. Ryan and Laurens two Chihuahuas, Savannah and Roxie loved it too! Ryan and Lauren took a vacation to Conchal Beach, Costa Rica and Ryan assured Lauren that he would NOT be proposing on this trip. Come to find out, Ryan had Lauren’s engagement ring right in Lauren’s backpack and pulled it out on Conchal Beach to propose! Lauren’s mother Rachel is super creative, and designed the invitations, decorations and flowers for the wedding including beautiful colors of ivory, pink, green, and grey. Hair and makeup was on point done by Fantasy Hair & Makeup. The bottom of Lauren’s wedding dress was actually a piece from her mothers wedding dress when she married Lauren’s father. Leah Adkins Photography & Labif Filmhouse caught all the love and special moments. Everything ran seamlessly thanks to the wedding planning of Sun and Sea Weddings .

Lisa and Nate Highlight

Lisa and Nate first encountered each other as teenagers in Tampa while Nate and his buddies were out skateboarding, and Lisa and her friends were on the hunt for some cool skateboarders to hang with. Lisa and Nate met, exchanged some words, and Nate and his buddies were on their way to the next skate park. Years later, Lisa and Nate crossed paths once again. They both remembered crossing paths when they were teenagers. Nate knew he wanted to marry Lisa from their second date. Nate proposed to his dream girl at the same skate park that they met at as teenagers. It was love at first sight all over again, when Lisa stepped into Poynter Park on their wedding day. This venue was made for bohemian, modern weddings and those were the exact vibes that were brought out for these two on their special day. Rose Garden Florist added stunning arrangements everywhere, adding plant greenery with ivory colors and textures to every nook and cranny of this already gorgeous venue. The vernal colors, the sparkly details, and all the cozy decor, we aren’t joking when we tell you this wedding gave us heart eyes! The cherry on top had to be Lisa’s incredible dress and no detail was left unattended.  Labif Filmhouse & Kera Photography captured it all brilliantly if we might say so ourselves!

JoAnn and Bob Highlight

It was a beautiful Friday in Winter Park, Florida. We had the privilege of filming JoAnn and Bob’s wedding at the beautiful venue Casa Feliz. It is a place with a romantic setting with a bit of history, it shows because it has roots just like JoAnn and Bob.

JoAnn and Bob found Labif Filmhouse (The best wedding videography company in Tampa) on The Knot.

The colors of the wedding were so intriguing. They were beautiful bright peacock colors. That’s the artistic side of JoAnn. Everything from the flowers to the invitations were just gorgeous.

Fun little fact about JoAnn and Bob, JoAnn has 2 chihuahuas. Their names are Max and Dante and Bob has a Havanese, and his name is Raffy.

JoAnn and Bob are just two souls that found love the second time around after their spouses unfortunately lost their fight with cancer. They were just good friends when love unexpectedly came. The proposal was short and sweet. Never take love for granted, cherish and love till the end of your journey as they did before.

Paige + David Highlight

What a beautiful day at the La belle group with our beautiful couple Paige and David. From Paige (the bride) getting ready to David (the groom) getting his boutonniere put on by his mother the day was just magical. La Belle Group decoration was absolutely gorgeous. Catering is done by 3cs catering . The food was delicious. If you are in need of a DJ look no further JR Malone had the wedding party rocking all night. We enjoyed working with all the vendors and the beautiful couple. Thank you Paige and David for letting us tell your story. Wedding Videography Tampa
